Memoryhouse are simply lush, start playing and you’ll arrive in some hypnagogic gaze in some attempt to decipher whether you’re in some lucid dream or what. More commonly referred to ‘chillwave’ on various music scrobbling sites, they came to my attention from the very talented Washed Out…

June Bloom Playlist - Download it
Jstreet and I got ambitious last week and decided that we’d make a playlist every week of the top songs we liked from the music we got that week. Here are my favorites. It was a good week.
Download the folder here, unzip it, and drag into itunes.
(I was too lazy to change the metadata, so it will probably appear in a different order in your itunes)
Glowing Eyes by FLASHLIGHTS

Colorado’s FLASHLIGHTS have returned with a new EP of casually-crafted electro pop, aptly titled FLASHLIGHTS EP 2. The songs have a fun, bubbly quality to them (especially on “Holiday” which sounds like a mix of Ben Gibbard and Chairlift).
The track “Glowing Eyes” stood out as different with its Knight Rider-ish synth lines, ambient pools and dark vocals.
You can stream their entire thing ( + download 2 tracks for free! ) on their bandcamp página. The song “New Hampshire” also appears on a split cassette with Force Publique.

Broadheart by Glow Marrow

The title track off of Glow Marrow’s debut EP is quite epic for a fresh band on the scene. The layering and guitar work go beyond the typical nostalgic lo-fi and I hear only visionary honesty when I listen. Brillwave to the max.
These guys should tour with Electric Sunset.

From their website:
Hailing from North Hollywood by way of Thousand Oaks, Derek Coburn and Darin Green have been collaborating since their days as high school friends with a mutual affinity for writing songs together. After incorporating live electronics into their previously more bare bones sound, the duo formed Glow Marrow. With a focus on creating new textures over music that ranges from electro pop to stark acoustic guitar led lullabies, Glow Marrow is an expansion on the duo’s prior project, The Eye The Ear and The Arm. Glow Marrow have recently completed their debut EP, Broadheart and are currently working on a new release while performing throughout the West Coast.

Summer is over in New Zealand (where this guy and gal are from) but that doesn’t mean they’ll stop giving off those breezy pop vibes.

Zorch drops new double single

Zorch played the most memorable show at SXSW this year. Their brew of imaginative chill-prog makes me happy to have kids someday and raise them to be musicians.
It’s Enough by Young Yeller

Classically trained percussionist Jesse Brickel (aka Young Yeller) plays sweet pop music that would make Mates of State jealous. Get his two singles for free on his bandcamp.
