Glowing Eyes by FLASHLIGHTS

Colorado’s FLASHLIGHTS have returned with a new EP of casually-crafted electro pop, aptly titled FLASHLIGHTS EP 2. The songs have a fun, bubbly quality to them (especially on “Holiday” which sounds like a mix of Ben Gibbard and Chairlift).
The track “Glowing Eyes” stood out as different with its Knight Rider-ish synth lines, ambient pools and dark vocals.
You can stream their entire thing ( + download 2 tracks for free! ) on their bandcamp página. The song “New Hampshire” also appears on a split cassette with Force Publique.

Get ready for the new Chairlift album.
These creepy pop sounds coming from Caroline Polachek and Patrick Wimberly have got me damp. Especially the Juicy-esque groove at 1:54.

And what’s up with this video? It reminds me of watching old sci-fi movies at my friend’s parent’s house when I was 9. The house was modern and his parents were never there.
Chairlift is making the slide from Kanine to Columbia on their upcoming (third) album out sometime in 2011.
Peculiar Paradise by Chairlift
We cannot wait for a new Chairlift album. Luckily they’ve gifted us with a track that would make Suzanne Vega and Kate Bush proud.

Take It Out on Me by Chairlift

I don’t know if our lives will be the same after hearing this chorus. Caroline Polachek….<3 u 4 ever.
Fuck yeah forgiveness
Forget all the rules
Just please don’t do it here
Bring on the fire
Cuz business is cool
But somehow I can’t help to think of Keane’s “Everybody’s Changing” at the same time. Check out the similar chorus vibe.
You can stream the whole new album, Something, in its entirety on Chairlift’s soundcloud. You also can hear them perform their new songs on NPR here.
