Brigitte Bombay by Big Spider’s Back

It’s been almost two years since Yair Rubinstein (aka Big Spider’s Back) dropped his promising EP, WarpedWe loved his kaleidoscope of samples, his honest vocal style and how he wore his influences on his sleeve.

His new album, Memory Man (perhaps named after a pedal in his arsenal), is even more meditative and flowing than the EP.  I imagine his formula goes like this: create sound loop => if it sounds pleasing add more sounds => repeat until you have ~3 minutes of a chill grooving without getting bored.

Grab his album from Circle Into Square on July 5th.  I hope there’s a vinyl release planned.

Bomber by Keepaway

Keepaway Black Flute

Keepaway.  I love you guys.  Bros 4 life.

Check out Keepaway’s bandcamp for another glimpse of their 2012 album, Black Flute.  The Caress Mix of their song “Vital” sounds little like the original but it’s equally as nice.

Take It Out on Me by Chairlift

I don’t know if our lives will be the same after hearing this chorus.  Caroline Polachek….<3 u 4 ever.

Fuck yeah forgiveness

Forget all the rules

Just please don’t do it here

Bring on the fire

Cuz business is cool

But somehow I can’t help to think of Keane’s “Everybody’s Changing” at the same time.  Check out the similar chorus vibe.

You can stream the whole new album, Something, in its entirety on Chairlift’s soundcloud.  You also can hear them perform their new songs on NPR here.
